Panic At The Disco -
Lying
new single 31 July
These guys have swallowed a dictionary and then some … this new batch of emo bands are making the most exciting new white music since the punk new waves, passionate, highly literate, sophisticated, soulful even. ‘Lying’ has already been much requested as an album track and with single release the song should easily make the Top 5. Already available on their Gold UK debut album ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’ and from 31 July on two CD singles and 7” picture disc vinyl. Brilliant! XXXXx

Mystery Jets - Diamonds In The Dark new single 14 August
Mystery Jets have been leapfrogged by The Arctic Monkeys but they shouldn’t worry. They have a quite special sound and presentation and their quirky songs are uniquely feelgood. Tongue firmly in cheek ‘Diamonds’ originally appeared on their ‘Making Dens’ debut album, now it features a gorgeous atmospheric accoustic guitar intro re-recorded with wonder Producer Stephen Street. Set on the streets of Camden it’s a tale of first love found and lost. Spot the influences .. Johnny Marr, Eno maybe a little Andre 3000. Top Ten we hope. XXXXx

Sibrydion -
Praying For Rain

album sampler

Formerly the nucleus of Welsh speakers Big Leaves, Sibrydion's four track sampler is supreb. Three Cymraeg and the English worded 'Praying For Rain' are well worthy - pleasant enough arrangements, some biting lyrics - this really is music with attitude. XXXX

Fake Bad News -
Morning Come
/
The Prisoner & The King
new demo
This is a fine new demo from Cardiff's Fake Bad News. Intricate wordings and a tight backbeat - almost Jam style make this a worthwhile listen, the vocals have real character. XXXX

The Charlatans -
NYC Weird Science Remix

promo only

A retro electro soundclash with The Charlatans latest single - a worthy variation bustling with electro energy - in fact you can almost hear funky 70's hammond keyboard moulded to acid house keyboard sound with a electro drone backdrop. A fine remix of a brilliant single.

Vega4 -
You & Me

new single 7 Aug

Vega4 may have created a classic here, time will tell. ‘You & Me' features vocals with spooky effect a pounding beat and was produced by Garret ‘Jacknife' Lee of U2, Snow Patrol, Editors and Bloc Party fame. Vega4 have just played to much acclaim at SxSW and they'll be opening the Latitude Festival in Southwold, Suffolk this Friday 14 July. Top 40 hopefully.

New York Dolls -
One Day ...

new album 24 July

Well this is a tasty prospect and so surprisingly good. One Day kicks off with the anthemic We Are All In Love, the brilliant single 'Gimme Love & Turn On The Light' turns in as track twelve of thirteen. Along the way savour gems like 'Punished World', 'Dance Like A Monkey' .. thank you Morrissey (in 1973 - Steven, President of The New York Dolls fan club) for it was he who instigated the reunion.

Fort Minor -
Where'd You Go

new single

A catchy chorus could lead this mellow track Top Ten. Executive Produced by Jay-Z a hip hop beat and laid back rap vocal by Jonah Matranga, backing sung by Holly Brook, Produced and Mixed by Mike Shinoda. Some heavyweight action packs this tune with punch the original version appears on the ‘The Rising Tied' album.

The Dears -
Ticket To Immortality

new single 14 August

The Dears return with their sublime new single ‘Ticket To Immkortality' taken from the forthcoming studio album ‘Gang Of Losers'. ‘Ticket' was recorded in Montreal over the winter and mixed in Brooklyn NYC earlier this year, with Murry's soulful vocals and a throbbing, electric attitude – it's a Top 40 possibility.
