These guys have swallowed a dictionary and then some … this new batch of emo bands are making the most exciting new white music since the punk new waves, passionate, highly literate, sophisticated, soulful even. ‘Lying’ has already been much requested as an album track and with single release the song should easily make the Top 5. Mystery Jets have been leapfrogged by The Arctic Monkeys but they shouldn’t worry. They have a quite special sound and presentation and their quirky songs are uniquely feelgood. Tongue firmly in cheek ‘Diamonds’ originally appeared on their ‘Making Dens’ debut album, now it features a gorgeous atmospheric accoustic guitar intro re-recorded with wonder Producer Stephen Street.
