Give Me Love new single 24 July
I can't believe how good this record is ... and this is the new incarnation of the legend that is The New York Dolls. Originally spearheading the early 70's sub-culture that led to the punk rock explosion. They played no small part in the 'new wave', their manager Malcolm McLaren going on to herd the Sex Pistols into our homes. Amazingly this will become the Dolls firs UK Top 40 hit ... without doubt. Get Together new single 24 July
I've had all these hits, I've got all this money what can I do now? Release a live album and a new single. 'Get Together' is another great pop record with mixes by Jaques Le Cont and Danny Howell. Madonna has an extraordinary ability to make great pop music, however I cringed at her Live 8 swearing and I'm not sure if I like Madge's covering John Lennon's 'Imagine'. Anti-Flag are the power punk pop version of Rage Against The Machine. Press Corpse is a superb track packed with energy just like 'War Sucks, Let's Party' which has been serviced to promote their album. The thing about war is when it strikes a party is probably not so likely, but I kinda know what their saying, they're anti-war and hope everyone else is. XXXx

A pessimists observation of the West's obsession with money and accumulation, which suffers for the inclusion of the 'S' word (shit) ... this will restrict airplay and unnecessarily impede progress for this fine Dublin quartet. Welcome to the world of SuperJupiter - Terje, Ivar, and Hal 1976, who hail from Norway, where they are signed to the Waterfall label also responsible for the hotly tipped Lorraine. 'You Know' is their debut single, and has been remixed by MHC (way to go Chris), who have also recently remixed Goldfrapp, Fischerspooner, The B-52s and a number of other electro pop legends. Rather like Eiffel's Blue @ 128bpm 'You Know' is about to be signed by a major label and launch into the Top 5. XXXx

It's Getting Light Outside new single 17 July
Clearlake are a hard-working, hard-gigging band signed to Domino (the Arctics label) and releasing the third single from their third album 'Amber'. 'It's Getting Light' is the closing track on the album and features Jason Pegg's plaintive vocals with 'frayed, uncrowded percussion' to set the mood for an uptempo yet chilled three minutes. XXXx
