Snow Patrol -
Chasing Cars
new single 24 July
Yep this is the one, the trademark Snow Patrol crescendo ... some spinetingling lyrics ... haunting instrumentation ... pulled from the Number One album 'Eyes Open' this is just the kind of Summer Chiller that may top the singles chart 'I'm Not In Love' style. Snow Patrol on tour in July - Suffolk, Leeds, Dublin, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Cornwall, Jersey, Brum, Manchester and Newcastle ... hmm no London date yet. XXXXx www.snowpatrol.net (Posted 20 Jun) |

Guillemots -
Made Up Lovesong # 43
new single 26 June
The Guillemots wonderful single 'Made Up Lovesong' is a great appetizer for their debut album 'Through The Windowpane' due for release on 10 July. Lead singer Fyfe Dangerfield .. great name .. has written and produced this track a unique soft rock meets soft drum & bass atmosphere .. what a mixture. As with Snow Patrol this could be a surprise number one love song of 2006. XXXXx www.guillemots.com (Posted 20 Jun) |

Milburn -
Cheshire Cat Smile
new single 24 July
Milburn should easily cement their claim on Top 40 status with this two minute follow up to the anthemic 'Send In The Boys'. An impassioned plea with a mate to get real 'You've got to see that she's indifferent' this is two minutes of traditional British punk power pop, again sung in a broad Sheffield accent - it's great. Milburn tour in July, see them at Cardiff Barfly on Tuesday 16th July. Milburn's debut album is due on 25th Sept. XXXX www.milburnmusic.com (Posted 20 Jun) |

Keane -
Under The Iron Sea
new album 19 June
Keane return, slightly more up-tempo - the single 'Is It Any Wonder' is track two on their new album following the opener 'Atlantic'. Generally speaking though this is quite a mellow affair .. plenty of sales here. XXXx www.keanemusic.com (Posted 20 Jun) |

Huski -
Love Peace Pain
new album 17 July
Producer Pike found himself at a party in a Turkish Restaurant watching an impromtu twpo song set by femme fatale Maple Bee, he knew right then he had to ... record with her. And no wonder, this debut album gets under way with some irresistable 'aural' sex 'I wanna kiss you undertoe' eh? Shocking Pink stockings too! Production by Simon Gogerly of U2, Lamb and New Order fame - quality! XXX www.huskimusic.com (Posted 20 Jun) |

Archie Bronson Outfit -
Dead Funny
new single 3 July
Archie Bronson Outfit have a pretty forceful and unique sound, like something out of swamp rock. A pounding drum track is often a signature along with some desperate vocals. 'Dead Funny' is a fine album track/single now supplied with a pair of remixes by Four Tet and Caveman who features an excellent toy soldier type drum beat for an intro. Good material and ABO deserve a break. XXXx www.archiebronsonoutfit.co.uk (Posted 20 Jun) |

The Longcut -
Vitamin C
new single 10 July
The Longcut are a bit of an aquired taste. 'Vitamin C' kicks in not unlike Radiohead's 'Ideotheque', guitarist Lee Gale says 'Vitamin C' was an excuse to use a loop made for a different song, but I ended really fucking it up, I played back what I recorded, it just ended up as a big noise. We put that togerther with a bassline and it worked well'. Hmmm 'a big noise' is correct, five minutes long, it's a 12" only release on Domino The Arctic Monkeys record label ... I think they'll have to be sharper than this. XXXx www.thelongcut.com (Posted 20 Jun) |

Mumm-Ra -
Song B new single 24 July
Mumm-Ra are about to put Bexhill-On-Sea on the musical map, this five piece formed at school in 1999 when they were each 14 years old. My God, it's a real band, a group of people who got together coz they wanted to make music together and they didn't split when there was no sign of dosh .. This is a formidable record, guitar based, stop start stomp, great vocals and the band list XTC, Kinks, Sigur Ros and The Beta Band as their driving influences. 'Keeping it real!' From First To Last -
The Latest Plague
new single 10 July
From First To Last played Download and will be releasing their new single on 10 July. Remixed by Atticus they somehow manage to sound like a rather more aggressive Kasabian Club Foot on this. It's a fine track beginning with a yell and some attacking guitar riffing ... you'll also find this remix on the Unsound compilation, formerly known as Punk o Rama. She Wants Revenge -
Tear You Apart new single 17 July
She Wants Revenge have a quite gruesome approach to their work, they'll be making horror movies one day. They have two songs in KROQ's Top Ten - KROQ is the biggest indie/alternative radio station in the world broadcasting to 27 million Southern Californians from Pasadena, Los Angeles - and if they like it, which they do, there's a fair chance it'll catch on here too if it's not banned. Wolfmother -
Woman new single 10 July
Lenny Kravitz meets Jamiroquai ... enter the brilliant Wolfmother, we love the superbly dancey MSTRKRFT remix and the chunky psychotic mix by The Avalanches. The album track mix will be the one played mostly as it is the mix selected for single A play. A great track and deserves Top Ten. XXXX www.wolfmother.com (Posted 20 Jun) |
