Keane -
Is It Any Wonder
new single 29 May
Keane are back, stronger and harder ... 'Is It Any Wonder' already featured on Match Of The Day captioning Chelsea's demise in the FA Cup this is their best song yet. A fine trailer for Keane's second album 'Under The Iron Sea' released on 12 June ... for trivia fans Keane's experimental and unique piano-led sound on the new album has been created by channelling the CP70 (Rice-Oxley's electric piano) into a plethora of effects pedals, warping the conventional sound ... and to great effect ... Brilliant! XXXX

Jack Johnson -
Upside Down
new single 22 May
Jack's new single is the opening song from the movie 'Curious George' and will be featured on Jack's forthcoming album 'Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the film Curious George' due for release on 29 May. Jack has written a batch of songs for the central character of the movie, giving voice to the animated 'Curious George' who leaves the jungle to follow the Man with the Yellow Hat (not Jamiroquai). This is happy go lucky light and frothy, an uplifting experience. XXXX

Boy Kill Boy -
Civilian
new album 22 May
Boy Kill Boy are just about there, by the time 'Civilian' hits the shops single 'Suzie' should beTop 5 ... this is some great pop indie rock & roll fast and furious, and some fine hooks 'Su'Su'Su'Suzie'. See the band on tour starting on April 29 in the Trafalgar Square Rock Against Racism gig and Cardiff Uni on the 7th May. XXXX

Ordinary Boys vs Lady Sovereign -
Nine2Five
new single 22 May
We loved this last year and the talent here shines through as brightly as ever. Quite a dilemma to see the band you love struggling, you've made an excellent debut album which hasn't achieved the sales it rightly should have, what do you do? Get signed up on the new Top Of The Pops, you know Big Brother ... enter the mainstream ... 'Boys Will Be Boys' struggled last year now it's a floorfiller ... The Ordinary Boys have made great records, it's a shame they've had to resort to BB to save them but hey ... so what! XXXX

The Boyfriends -
Adult Acne
new single 8 May
Cardiff's Boobytrap Records have picked a winner here, with The Boyfriends supporting Morrissey on the first leg of his European tour and these guys are delivering in sound too! 'Adult Acne' has an irresistable bass riff made for movement and lyrics as incisive as the title. Perhaps with a little airplay where it matters (Huw Stephens might help out here) this could give Boobytrap and The Boyfriends their first hit single. XXXX

We Are Trees -
See You Later
new single 24 April
We Are Trees launched their single on Saturday afternoon with a performance at Spillers Records in the centre of Cardiff as Adam Green did a couple of years ago. The evening saw them take in Callaghans. 'See You Later' is a fine single with Producer credits going to Paul Durrant at Stir Studios in Cardiff, with a little luck ....... XXXx

The Feeling -
Fill My Little World
new single 22 May
The Feeling will further establish themselves with this follow-up to their Top Tenner 'Sewn'. 'Fill My Little World' is in fact a re-release of their debut single which received a limited release last year - a wry heartfelt plea and mellow Travis/Keane like style - both tracks can be found on The Feeling's debut album 'Twelve Stops & Home' due on 5th June. See them live supporting The Charlatans in April & May and then headlining their own 15 date tour starting at Frog @ The Mean Fiddler on 20th May, through to Festival appearances at T In The Park, Oyegen and the V Festivals.
