Chiddy Bang
Truth new single 17 May 2010

Chiddy Bang should easily replicate the success of 'Opposite To Adult' with this new single 'Truth'. Fearturing an alluring female chorale part and jaunty funked up rapping verse it's got that chartbound sound to it with the
bands innovative new school sampling form this time sampling Passion Pit’s ‘Better Things’. The guys play a major UK tour in May starting in South Wales.... 9th May Sin City Swansea, 10th May The Old Fire Station Bournemouth, 12th May Waterfront Norwich, 13th May Bucks SU High Wycombe, 14th May O2 Academy Oxford, 15th May Sheffield University Sheffield, 16th May Hull University, 17th May Electric Circus Edinburgh, 18th May Liverpool University, 19th May 53 Degrees Preston, 21st May Gatecrasher Nottingham, 22nd May Leeds University, 24th May Reading University.

Fabio Lendrum
Trouble Remixes new single

Fresh from his first top ten success co-writing Example's 'Won't Go Quietly', 18 year old Fabio releases a limited edition 12" single featuring four mixes of his new tune 'Trouble'. The much in demand Jakwob (who re-invented for La Roux last year and Ellie Goulding this year) kicks off with a three and a half
minute radio friendly re-work, then there's the CFCF Remix with some tasty bass and piano lines and the 130bpm Drop The Lime Club Mix and Dub Mix. Hit potential.

Four Year Strong
Wasting Time (Eternal Summer) new single 31 May 2010

Here's a fast three minute Yankee pop tune - 240bpm. Four Year Strong (the length of the US Presidential term) release a new single from their third album 'Enemy Of The World'. 'Wasting Time' has trademark Americana to it produced by Machine of Lamb Of God and Cobra Starship fame ending with handy applause and handclapping. The vocals sound so hard
"I can see you're waiting but I don't care... to fill this whole place up with gasoline and blow the top off this whole damn venue coz I don't care... cos we were ready to ignite the sky, I had the time of my life..." ... it's probably harder to not want to do that... but who knows?

Grum
Can't Shake This Feeling new single 3 May 2010

L
oving this.... I think we should be told who de ladee vocalist iz... this is a fine piece of 2010 diy retro 80s sounding funky stuff, sexy to the max... I can see the vid in my minds eye, steamy and luuuurvvvvly!!! Grum is 24 year old Edinburgh-born DJ and producer Graeme Shepherd, a dancefloor alchemist who's earnt glowing comparisons to Mylo, The Chemical Brothers and Justice... “Runaway”, “Heartbeats” and “Sound Reaction”), they were wowed by his massive remixes for Friendly Fires, Goldfrapp and Lady GaGa to name a few, and they were stunned by his mammoth DJ sets, from Vice gigs in New York to sold-out dates in Paris, Barcelona, Australia and Brazil.
Here's the accurate PR "Cramming a DJ box-load of influences from Daft Punk to The Human League and Stuart Price into 4 minutes, “Can’t Shake This Feeling” is the pinnacle of his work to date, a real cross-over moment that will introduce the world to its new dance hero. The song encapsulates what he refers to as "an endorphin rush of disco-house, '80s pop, Italo disco and FM rock" and combines the soaring synths and vocals of the '80s with the energy and arrangement of 2010. Backed with mixes from the likes of Aston Shuffle, DCup, Beaumont, Charlie! and Ghosts Of Venice - and one hell of a video that has to be seen to be believed – “Can’t Shake This Feeling” is a major calling card for an artist that set to be the breakthrough dance artist of 2010. One listen and you can imagine turning circles in Glastonbury mud at 6am as the sun rises. Grum is playing a joint headline tour with Brazilian DJs The Twelves across the US in April and May before bringing the BPM to the UK for Get Loaded In The Park and Creamfields in the summer. Buckle in, it's going to be a big one...."

Hole
Skinny Little Bitch new single 3 May 2010

Well it's like Ms Love's never been away, as angry and hostile as ever 'Skinny Little Bitch' is a new storming three minute rocker from the reunited Hole and should please their femme fans no end. Our Courtney has on occasions looked faintly ridiculous but she's had a long slog from her affairs with Bryan Adams, discovering Kurt Cobain through the Nirvana track 'Slither' and all that's happened since the 1994 tragedy of Kurt's death. This is a fine record but maybe not such a fine way to live life.

Kick Ass Soundtrack
Various Artists new album 29 March 2010

With Brad Pitt on your side your likely to have a winner and here's fifteen superb tracks from 'Kick Ass' the must see movie of the moment starring the new Brit of the moment Aaron Johnson... spit - he's so gonna have 'em falling at his feet! This soundtrack album is an wonderfully eclectic affair featuring Elvis Presley's 1972 top tenner 'An American Trilogy', Ennio Morricone's theme from the Clint Eastwood movie 'For A Few Dollars More', Ellie Gouldings 'Starry Eyed' and The Prodigy's superb Fatboy Slim soundalike 'Stand Up). Bits of audio / dialogue are spliced in to good effect with Mika Vs Red One's future hit 'Kick Ass', The Little Ones 'There's A Pot Brewin', The Hit Girls 'Bad Reputation' and Zongamin's 'Bongo Song'. Then there's The Dickies frenetic version of the 'Banana Splits' theme. A great collection from I'm sure a big hitting UK movie.

Primary1 & Nina Persson
The Blues
new single 12 April 2010
'The Blues' has quite an appealing up-tempo sound, some neat harmonies, and with exposure as Ellie Goulding's support on her sell-out tour there's a chance this could make some headway especially with the presence of Nina Persson of Cardigans and A Camp fame. Chart chance.
PR.... "Following two massive club collaborations with Riton ('Who's There?' and 'Radiates') and the Pitchfork-endorsed demo collection ‘’Mess Detective’’, Primary 1 (AKA British born musician/producer/ solo artist Joe Flory) is back with his first single proper, 'The Blues'. Taken from his forthcoming debut album Other People, slated for release in late summer on Atlantic Records, 'The Blues' also features the crystalline vocals of Nina Persson (The Cardigans and A Camp.) and was co produced in Sweden with Smile (Jocke from Teddybears and Bjorn from Peter, Bjorn & John). 'The Blues' will shortly be released on super-limited vinyl as part of Record Store Day on 17th April. It will be available to download from 12th April. Keep your eyes peeled for a stunning video and much much more from Primary 1. Other collaborations on Other People include the mysterious Harry Tuttle (who could be from one of Joe's favourite bands), recent BRIT Award winner Paul Epworth and is mixed in part by Philippe Zdar (producer of the recent Grammy Award winning Phoenix album). Primary 1 is confirmed as main support on Ellie Goulding’s March tour debuting his first full live band performance - you can see him at Cardiff Barfly on 17 April.

Some Velvet Morning
How To Start A Revolution
new single 10 May 2010
First thing... don't call it a 'revolution' - do it without anyone noticing - consult our Mr Brown for advice - especially on the turning of 65 year old Grannies into criminals for selling a goldfish... Seriously, this is the theme to the new 'Kick Ass' movie starring Aaron Johnson as the new brand of real life superhero 'Kick Ass'. Aaron is a 19 yearl old Brit who's been in the acting game since he was six!!! Some Velvet Morning - Des Lambert (Vocals, Guitar), Gavin Lambert (Bass) and Rob Flanagan (Drums) - gained many fans with their debut album three years back and this fairly consolidates their progress with a chance of top ten success... the movie looks good and this tune has hit written all over it! Their single launch 'happening' is at London's 100 Club on 14th May.

Sub Focus & Coco
Splash
new single 10 May 2010
Another fine single from Sub Focus this time featuring the vocal talent of Coco. 'Splash' is another dancefloor designed radio friendly tune which shold sound equally at home on Radio One, Kiss and Galaxy - top performance.

Gruff's Brazilian Posted Monday 29th March 2010 : Source - Swn
Swn - the Promotion outfit led by Radio One DJ Huw Stephens and his manager Cardiff Promoter John Rostron have a fascinating show here....

Tony Da Gatorra vs Gruff Rhys
Thursday 29th July
Clwb Ifor Bach
7.30pm-11.00pm
Tickets £12 adv exclusively from www.wegottickets.com

"Gruff Rhys and Tony Da Gatorra are proud to announce their forthcoming collaborative album, The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness. This musically unorthodox, experimental record will receive a limited release in July. Tony and Gruff will also perform a handful of live shows to coincide with the album’s release, including a debut UK date at Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on 29th July, and the Field Day festival in London on 31st July."
Tony Da Gatorra is a Brazilian TV and VCR repairman, musical freedom fighter and the inventor of his own unique ‘Gatorra’ instrument. Part drum machine, part guitar, the Gatorra provides the unique sonic style of Tony’s peace-loving protest songs and features heavily throughout The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness.

As a massive fan of Tony, Gruff set about tracking down the cult hero during his travels throughout South America (an adventure that also lead to road trip movie, Separado!).
Having finally met, the pair undertook their first gig together and promptly booked in to a Sao Paulo recording studio to begin rehearsals...
Gruff takes up the story: We spent 5 days rehearsing a set of songs to play live at the venue – our only shared language was music itself so there was no small talk, just intense concentration on the music.
On the final day, as the rehearsals had been so productive, we hooked up some recording equipment and took about 5 hours out to make this record.
We recorded several live takes of each song then chose the best versions. I added a harmony vocal overdub on two songs, otherwise it’s pretty much what we recorded at the time. Upon returning to Cardiff I took the songs to producer Kris Jenkins’s studio whose excitement for the album and general encouragement was infectious – then we called in noise legend Sir Doufus Styles to oversee the final mix.
Armed with 5 flasks of strong coffee, 75 sticks of gum and a bank of vintage compressors we mixed The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness at extremely loud volume in one epic 12 hour session.
Tony Da Gatorra adds: Hello, peace my brothers, this record was made with lots of feelings and true love to bring consciousness and show a little bit of truth that needs to be said without hypocrisy. We are creatures of God, so there's no death. Spirit is light, all evil won't prevail – there's no evil when it crashes with goodwill.
The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness will be released on 26th July via OVNI / Turnstile Music.
