This week's post ...

Faithless
Not Going Home
new single 3 May 2010
"Not going home without you ..." distinctive speechy vocals herald Faithless return and the thing is they're always so intimate yet right omn the edge. Superb re-mixes from Sister Bliss, Eric Prydz and Herve. 15 years on from 'Insomnia' here's another fine track for a new generation of Faithless fans.

Plan B
She Said
new single 29 March 2010
Well this is a bit of tune - almost a calypso .... superbly put together ... and the video is no less excellent from Master of all multi media skills Mr Plan B - top
remixes from Shy FX and 16 Bit. Top Five this time? ... I think so!! Plan B's sophomore album ‘The Defamation of Strickland Banks’ is due 12 April 2010.

Pendulum
Watercolour
new single 3 May 2010
Another quite brilliant tune from the Aussies, Pendulum thunder in with a new single 'Watercolour' and on the back of a sell out tour 'Watercolour' should easily r roar into the top ten.

Xample & Lomax
Remember / Rushin Dragon
new single 26 April 2010
You may know Bristol duo Xample & Lomax for Chase & Status and Sub-Focus and here they are with two tasty six minute drum and bass trax of the finest order. 'Remember' and the great title 'Rushin Dragon' will be singled out from 26 April with a fair chance of success. Here's the press release
"Following solo efforts in the last few years that allowed them to develop a strong identity, the two producers have teamed up and released already a few collaborations for Ram, with Lomax featuring on Xample dancefloor killer ‘Lowdown/The Latter’’ a couple of years ago, and the infectious ‘Contra’ last year.
For months already, dancefloors have erupted at the first notes of the intro of ‘Remember The Future’. Light synth notes and acoustic guitar and anthemic vocal delivering an infectious melody entwined with a nasty, distorted bass drop to create a song of anthemic proportion. ‘Rushin Dragon’ features Lomax’ inimitable minimalist stabs feeding into the hellish rhythms of Xample to devastating effects.
With their comprominsing sound fuelled on striking contrasts, Xample and Lomax are exploring new, unknown territories. The LP, due this autumn, will be another stepping stone."

This week's Top 40 ...

Top 40 Sun 14 Mar 10
Stateside The Peas are off Top Pod after just a week to make way for Taio Cruz's 'Break Your Heart' - Taio's the second Brit R&B artist to top the Hot 100 in the past twelve months following Jay Sean's 'Down'.

Tinie Tempah is the UK's Number One for a second week and Boyzone's 'Brother' goes to the top of the Album Chart. Where have all the rock / indie tunes gone - playlisting bias at the Government's Radio One perhaps??

Did I miss the charity record for Chile???

Magna Carta x 800
Posted Tuesday 16th March 2010
We're informed on good authority our leader Prime Minister Mr Gordon Brown has begun work on a Bill Of Rights to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta... Election? Nah problem. Thanks to Mary Riddell at The Daily Telegraph for that little nugget.
