UK Top 40 Sun 6 Jun 10
Dizzee drops to 4 and makes way for David Guetta, Chris Willis, Fergie and LMFAO's 'Gettin Over'... a third UK Number One from Guetta's recent album.
Dizz is one of the few Brits on the chart ... of the new Top 40 only fourteen of the trax originate from the UK... just over a third... eight of those are 'Grime' related so just six of forty are good ole UK pop tunes... Compared to the Swinging 60's Beat Groups, Glam and Punk in the 70's, New Romantics and Acid House 80s, Brit-Pop 90's... Arctic 00's... there can't have been many periods since the crooner 40s and the Rock & Roll 50's where US music has held such a dominant upper hand with sales.
Usher stays top Stateside and because of such US dominance even bigger respect is due to Ellie Jackson's La Roux who have cracked the US Top Ten at 8 with her UK No.1 'Bulletproof'... something Robbie Williams, Oasis and many other top league UK stars failed to do.
Jack Johnson goes straight to the top of the UK's Album Chart with his latest 'To The Sea'.
Here's another comparison... Last years Eurovision Winner from Norways Alexander Rybak went straight to 10 in the UK Singles Chart - this year perhaps as a reaction to Britains repeatedly hopeless capitulation to uselessness, Germany's winning entry 'Satellite' by Lena enters at 30 - the UK's entry didn't chart in the UK at all so mediocre was it - anyone know who did it? No - nor us.
6 new entries - 9 up, 23 down, 2 non-movers

Stuart Cable Dies
Posted Monday 7th June 2010
Sad news that 40 year old former Sterephonic Stuart Cable (19 May 70 - 7 June 10) has passed away.
He was found dead in his home at 5.30am this morning. There's thought to be no suspicious circumstances.
Without the then anonymous Stereophonics legitimate claim in 1996 that they couldn't get a gig in Cardiff we wouldn't have been motivated to launch xplosure and begin promoting local bands.
Our condolences go out to Stuart's family and loved ones. bbc.co.uk
