UK Top 40 Sun 11 Jul 10
JLS are on top of Katy Perry - an enviable position to be in especially if it were replicated Staeside. Alas our Ex Factor err X-Factor boys will have to wait for that milestone... the soon to be Mrs Brand is top for a fifth week in the States just ahead of Eminem & Rihanna.
Kylie goes straight to the top of the UK's Albums with her new set 'Aphrodite'.

Who Doctor?

I don't think it's Matt Smith's fault after all he is now canoodling Daisy Lowe... but he's got BEEB bosses scratching their heads... Here's the comparative viewing figures for the three most recent Doctors final show of their first series...
1 David Tennant 7.7 million
2 Christopher Eccleston 6.9 milion
3 Matt Smith well down on 5.1 million
... they may have to look at the storylines which seem to increasingly showcase writers desperation.

Welsh Music Foundation Seminar: Make It Happen
Saturday 17th July 2010
The Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd
Morning: 10:30 – 12:00
Afternoon: 13:00 – 15:30
Need some practical advice on what to do next with your music?
Want to know how to get your music noticed?
Like to understand how you can progress with your band?
Here's your chance.
Make It Happen is a free event featuring a hand-picked panel offering practical advice for songwriters, artists, managers, labels and more in the context of today's music industry.
Presented by the Welsh Music Foundation in association with Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council’s Cultural Services, as part of the Designs for Life Programme, this day-long event will see a number of sessions taking place at the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd, on Saturday 17th of July. As well as a morning session featuring a panel of guest speakers from the various different parts of the music industry, there will also be a surgery session with the Welsh Music Foundation who will be on hand to give advice to aspiring music companies.
In the afternoon there will also be advice for bands, musicians and budding music journalists, through a special interactive workshop with Fakerocker, who will be giving advice on promoting your band to the media, as well as interview and promotional techniques. The ‘Promote & Plug’ session will also cater to those interested in music journalism, giving practical advice on interviewing musicians and approaching media outlets, and will feature an introduction from ‘Plugged In’ Magazine – the music magazine for Wales based in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
When registering a place at this event, please state whether you want to attend:
* Morning session
* Afternoon session, or
* Both
The afternoon session with Fakerocker is aimed at budding bands and journalists.
To ensure that discussion covers the areas YOU want to know about, we're encouraging you to email in your questions and subjects in advance, as well as ask on the day...
