Great Stuff ...

Tom Ten Feet on balloon duty at midnight

2009 ...
Hope you had a good start to '09.

It was great to hook up with Cardiff DJ legend Jaffa again. Last time I saw him was at the launch of the Cardiff Special Olympics in 2000 where Jaffa (or Jason) was playing a superb set with his Erban Poets hip-hop outfit and I was compering the opening ceremony. One of the Kennedy Clan (yes the JFK clan) Timothy Shriver, President & CEO of Special Olympics Inc was making the welcome speech, kissing babies wasn't in it, he and his bodyguards nearly knocked us off the stage. Click here for Cardiff's Special Olympics

As we brace ourselves for a lovely new year where we're already informed the number of unemployed is about to near double I'm sitting here reading one of my presents 'Speeches That Changed The World'. Thanks Sue.

Quote President Josef Stalin, Russian Communist Leader in 1939 on signing a pact with the German Fuhrer Adolf Hitler which effectively chopped Poland in half and started World War II. A long war will suit Russia, the Allies will grow weary and the first task of "our comrades in France & Britain will be to decompose and demoralize the army and police" ... OK so they're a little late with that one but I'm getting worried

The media Cast who invade our homes and sensibilities are an important tool in implementing of Government policy, living in a bubble where they seem to do as they like with little concern to the greater good. Charity appeals seem to have become PR exercises.

As the money dries up there is a clueless appearance as to which approach to take. Christmas sales and Black Friday booze freakery was hyped up beyond recognition in the TV news I saw. Really. Like where's the shoppers, where's the level of yobbery we've become so familiar with. In Cardiff on Black Friday police seemed to outnumber clubbers, and the police aren't exactly overstaffed!

The money in the system hasn't so much dissappeared as been 'removed'. Is it slight of hand fast buck confidence tricksters who've de-stablized the world? Is it an accident? Will the meek inherit the Earth?

So let's be careful out there, Happy New Year!

Radio Phwoar

So it was Edward Stourton's Radio 4 colleagues who told him he was about to be sacked rather than his manipulative bosses. Well that's business as normal for most of our media mogul gods and some other workplaces where bosses see nothing wrong in shoddy behaviour, until inevitably they are on the receiving end.
