Razorlight
Tupac Robot Club Rock
new album 3 November
With the mellow tones of the 59-118bpm 'Wire To Wire' in the top five here comes 'Slipway Fires', the long awaited new album from Razorlight. The 129bpm 'Burberry Blue Eyes' is another intriguing affair pulling in at 129bpm. Johnny & Co are back with a bang

Barefoot Confessor
Teenage Years
new demo track
I can't help feeling this band are going to be massive, either way there is a soul to their indie based rock which is hard to discover elsewhere. Seduced by the melancholy of the awesome 'Camden Road' in comes a new mp3 of the just recorded and not entirely finished 'Teenage Years'. At a powered up 150bpm 2 minutes 40 seconds, here's yet another demonstration of intent and great ability from our new band of the year award winner ... if we had an award Barefoot Confessor would win it! Brilliant

Brand & Ross, Radio One listeners say what's the fuss?
Would you believe it Russel Brand and Jonathan Ross jumping around on webcam like pre-pubescent children who'd just discovered YouTube ... and the BBC are trying to salvage some credibility by suggesting that radio one listeners don't see the big deal with obscene phone calls about a female family member. It is against the law. Is anyone really surprised at the sickening content of the joke, the kind of lewd misplaced insult that might have started a war. Well apparently Ofcom and the BBC were surprised. What rubbish? They've known and approved Brand and Ross for outrageous broadcast through the years, the surprise is that the public numbering over thirty thousand have bothered to complain to the BBC and Ofcom, with another two complaints intelligently made to the police. A sign that public decency has not yet been eaten away so completely by the selfish cancer that seems to prevail. Our thoughts are for Andrew Sachs and his Grand-daughter, Satanic Slut Voluptua she may be and that's her affair. The BBC should not be in the business of broadcasting the obscene imaginations of the drug addled brain of Brand and the untempered bigmouth of multi millionaire Ross. While TV 'star' Ross didn't mince his words about Heather Mills on a national awards show, there's been sufficient warning of at least a need to edit Brand's couldn't give a damn attitude with his foray into outrage in early 2007 ...

Viewers complain over sorry Brits joker Brand
Brits host & Radio Two DJ, former heroin addict Russell Brand has triggered a flood of complaints with off-colour jokes about the Queen and the Iraq war.
ITV1 had received around 300 complaints by Thursday morning, while broadcasting watchdog Ofcom logged a further 135.
Ofcom said most of the calls concerned "the tone of the jokes made during the ceremony," which was shown live for the first time in 17 years.
Broadcaster ITV in their madness defended Brand, calling him
"an edgy host for an edgy event," but apologised for any offence caused.
The presenter opened the show by poking fun at singer Robbie Williams, who is currently being treated in a rehab clinic for addiction to prescription drugs.
Pointing at a padlock that formed part of the set, Brand said it was "Robbie Williams' medicine cabinet".
Several links included barely-disguised innuendos, including one referring to the Queen.
Announcing the international breakthrough artist award, Brand commented:
"I think a good international breakthrough would be if the British and American soldiers tell each other where they are standing".
Brand was booed by some members of the audience following the joke, which referred to the "friendly fire" death of UK soldier Matty Hull in Iraq.
ITV1 said that swearing was bleeped out before the watershed and the broadcaster said the complaints were about Brand rather than any bad language.
Just another shameful example of TV, radio and media generally leading us to a place where as yet, the majority do not want to go.

... here's another Jonathan Ross gem from 2006 ...

'ere Wossy, d'you 'ave problems avin' a shit
Jonathan Ross has hit back after criticism of his conduct during a recent interview with Conservative party leader David Cameron.
Ross asked Mr Cameron if he had had schoolboy sexual fantasies about former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
"I stand by it. It was a perfectly valid question," Ross told BBC Radio Five Live.
Former Tory minister Lord Tebbit called the interview "obscene". The BBC received 21 complaints.
Ross said his show did not set out to upset people.
"I wouldn't want to do that, even though upsetting Norman Tebbit has given me some small sense of satisfaction because he's spent 12 years upsetting me," he joked.
Side-stepped
"If Mr Cameron had felt awkward about that question and answer sequence we would have removed it, but none of his people thought it was a problem and neither did the people I work with, so that's why we didn't," he added.
Mr Cameron changed the subject when asked if he had fantasies about Lady Thatcher "in stockings", and later laughed off another suggestive question.
The exchange took place during last week's BBC One show, Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.
Lord Tebbit said on the BBC's Sunday AM that Mr Cameron had made an "awful mistake" by appearing on the Ross show.
He said Mr Cameron had been "thoroughly embarrassed by Ross using the occasion for making an obscene attack on - and I use the word literally, obscene - on Margaret Thatcher".
"He should never have been there," he said.
The BBC said it stood by the interview, screened after the 9pm watershed.

US strikes Syria
US helicopter-borne troops have carried out a raid inside Syria along the Iraqi border, killing eight people including four children, Syrian officials say.
The official Syrian news agency Sana said the raid took place in the Abu Kamal border area, in eastern Syria.
It said that American soldiers on four helicopters had stormed a building under construction on Sunday night.
The US says it is investigating. It has previously accused Syria of allowing foreign militants into Iraq.

So said BBC.co.uk, was it considered just a small local story that broke at 9.30pm last night (Sunday 26 October). It was featured on BBC.co.uk but not mentioned on The BBC's 10'Clock News or News 24. Puzzling

Hard working Ian
Ian works hard at the office but spends two nights each week bowling, and
plays golf every Saturday.
His wife thinks he's pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she
takes him to a local strip club.
The doorman at the club greets them and says, 'Hey, Ian! How ya doin?'
His wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before.
'Oh no,' says Ian. 'He's in my bowling league.
When they are seated, a waitress asks Ian if he'd like his usual and brings
over a Budweiser.
His wife is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and says, 'How did she know
that you drink Budweiser?'
'I recognize her, she's the waitress from the golf club.
I always have a Bud at the end of the 1st nine, honey.'
A stripper then comes over to their table, throws her arms around Ian,
starts to rub herself all over him and says,
'Hi Ian. Want your usual table dance, big boy?'
Ian's wife, now furious, grabs her purse and storms out of the club.
Ian follows and spots her getting into a cab.
Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her.
Ian tries desperately to explain how the stripper must have mistaken him
for someone else, but his wife is having none of it .
She is screaming at him at the top of her lungs, calling him every 4 letter
word in the book.
The cabby turns around and says,
'Geez Ian, you picked up a real bitch this time.'
