UK Top 40Sun 28 Nov 10
Check out our tune of the week from Japanese Pop Stars - 'Let Go' a quite wonderfully nasty 130bpm chugger of an indie electro vocoder sort of soundclash with a captivating video animation.
Take That's 'Progress' keeps top spot on the UK Albums while Rihanna's 'Only Girl In The World' goes back to Number One Stateside.
Tough battle at the top of the UK singles sees the unholy corporate monster that is X-Factor beat Ellie Goulding to Number One, although I suspect Ellie has a better chance than they of taking prime position next week. X-Factor's karaoke wannabes have reduced the awesome David Bowie song 'Heroes' to mush... Bowie originally recorded the song in Berlin in 1977 and Phil Manzanera's haunting guitar line which took ages to perfect is now pushed back in the mix to accomodate the straining vocals of tomorrow's instantly forgotten. I know each £3.99 for the single will go to Help For Heroes, or most of it but why not just give Help For Heroes £3.99 and save yourself the future bother of chucking another of this series most worthless contributions to pop music history.
Oh and here's another... Olly Murs, the legend... Our Olly will be on tour in 2011 armed with his two hits and hoping to make fast money before obscurity beckons... the cost of ticket to see him is an unbelievable £27... if you're an Ollie fan don't rush out to dish your dosh on this feeble... hold on for 50% reductions in the new year... they won't be able to give these tickets away. (I am prepared to eat my chocolate hat on it).
Then worse, the return of the novelty tune.... argghhhh.... Britain's Got Talent Brett Domino and his pointless tune to 'Gillian McKeith' (who?) of I'm A Celebrity non-entity-ness is in at 29 - check his homemade vid - non synced in error like the words to the melody except they apparently were deliberately non-synced.

There must be disdain in Tory circles today that their government is aiding and abetting the left-wing plan to dissolve the United Kingdom... the idea that we four nations squabble amongst ourselves over free prescriptions in Wales but not in England, differing speed limits in Scotland and the like can only have come from a European monster waiting to devour us whole... Here according to the BBC are the key measure's of the ConDem coalition's Scotland Bill
Holyrood to set new Scottish income tax from 2015
Borrowing powers, worth £2.7bn, to be devolved
Scots parliament to gain control over speed limit and drink-drive laws
Devolution of powers to control air guns
Increased powers to run Holyrood elections
New post of Scottish Crown Estate Commissioner
Obviously what's good for Scotland should be good for Wales and Northern Ireland also... and for Brussels... and my ma always told me to eat my brussels.

While we ponder whether 17 year old George Sampson has managed to pay Simon Cowell all the money he owes him... the Britain's Got Talent 'star', anti-social behaviour council flat evictee and future star of 'Waterloo Road' owes Simon for studio time not covered by his minimal royalty deal... (none of that was made up)... It's today been announced that the two biggest karaoke shows in the world are coming together in a slushing of television juices. Simon will be whetting himself before entry at the thought of the union between two money devouring corporate cemetary's. Oh yes it's X-Factor semi-finals this weekend... when will this wanton exploitation of mute's be consigned to global TV's rubbish bin... Big Brother lasted a decade so we've possibly another four or five years of this 'mirror mirror on the wall' all too often talentless poo... there maybe another world war before it ends. Anyways here's the lowdown on the showdown....
Glee cast will be performing on the semi-finals of The X Factor on Sunday 5th December. That means two of the biggest TV shows in the world are coming together for one incredible night!

Earliest freeze since... how old's the planet.... Cardiff at -7C last night... around 85F inside the club... everything was wet! Here's the latest devastating news on the hot planet from the BBC...
Mid Wales recorded the lowest temperatures in the UK on Saturday night as bitter cold continued to bite.
Llysdinam in Powys saw -17.3C (0.86F), which is both the lowest ever recorded in Wales in November, and the lowest in the UK during the month since 1985.
Another Powys weather station at Tirabad, south of Llanwrtyrd Wells, saw a new local record of -14.3C (6F).
That made Wales colder than Greenland, with the chill continuing next week, and more snow possible from Tuesday.
Michael Dukes of MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said: "You are seeing some ridiculously low temperatures - it has been a bit like it is in the middle of Scandinavia. "There should be a bit more of a breeze over the next day or two, which will not feel quite as extreme. But then we might see temperatures threaten -20C (-4F) in the Scottish glens later. This is certainly an extraordinary cold snap."
The all-time lowest recorded daily minimum temperature in Wales was also in Powys, on 21 January, 1940, when Rhayader saw -23.3C (-9.94F). |
