Crazy week eh, for Australia and New Zealand and hosts France, for plastic turf and San Marino and there we are ... and with new improved GB performance to runner-up level especially for Lewis Hamilton. Lewis who at the age of seven began his Blue Peter career in 1992 with John Leslie will soon be returning to collect a very special BP badge but alas not as F1 World Champ .. well not til next year anyway.
And how much would you have paid to see The Police ... Sting and Co broke the record by selling out the Millenium Stadium in one hour when the gig was announced back in March ... beating the previous record held by Oasis who 'only' sold out their 2005 show in three hours - shucks ...
It was a pleasure to have Police support act Mr Hudson & The Library drop by for their aftershow chill accompanied by one of London electro/grime's rising stars DJ Goldie Locks and Sting's daughter Koko!
Anyways, here's this week's arrivals ...
Courteeners

new single
Another new Manchester act with attitude, a punchy 150bpm, a little 2'40" tune easily programmeable... see them @ Mad4it in December
Killers & Lou Reed
Tranquilize
new single 6 November
Just right for Halloween and a No.14 hit already, a rather haunting downbeat Killers track which is made more spooky with the addition of Lou Reed's vacant growl, it''s great
Kula Shaker
Out On The Highway Remix / Song Of Love / Narayana
new single 29 October
I've always rather liked Crispian Mills and his family for that matter, Grandad Sir John a superb actor, his mum Hayley starred in the Cardiff time capsule movie Tiger Bay and it was a great fun to interview Crispian & Kula Shaker first time round in 96. Somewhat surprised was I when Crispian began talking in Sanscrit. A couple of years later Kula Shaker ground to a halt with Mr Mills quoted with an apparently less than critical view of Nazi Germany. Crispian played with The Jeevers a couple of times at Cardiff Barfly, and the brilliant 'Once Upon A Time In America' deserved a Top Five position in my view. That aside they always had a great bass/dance line angle on indie rock and they're back with the same attack ... I hope they make an impression with this.

Much requested and a couple of minor chart excursions, possibly bigger things ahead.. I think it will depend on whether they can lure in from outside the hardcore following they already undoubtedly have
Rumblestrips
Time

These guys are of the moment and deserve to see at least one top tenner, maybe 'Time' will do it
