Mein new single 19 March
Hardliners will think they've gone soft but this is the most commercial tune yet from Deftones. Interesting twist on 'Mein' maybe, a well structured three minute pop song with trademark metal toned down for more mainstream airplay. Produced by Bob Ezrin who did the biz for Alice Cooper as long ago as 1972 ... on UK tour duty in March with a Top 40 hit. 'XXXx deftones.com

Baby Fratelli new single 12 March
Hmmm not sure about this one .. a Fratelli too far maybe .. it doesn't seem to work on le disko and fans will have it on the album. Great band maybe it's time for some new material or maybe 'chelsea Dagger' is going to be like The Automatic's 'Monster' - very difficult too follow. Version new album 16 April
Great to find a New Yorker with Paul Weller's 'Pretty Green' as one of his fave songs. Ronson magically reworks The Jam classic into a funky little femme vocalled floorbuster .. similar treatment for Britney's 'Toxic', Coldplay's 'God Put A Smile On Your Face' .. it could be a disaster but for some reason it's not. In fact it's pretty darned good. By the way that's his sister! XXXX markronson.co.uk
