Amazing achievement by Black Eyed Peas .. not only their third number one song from 'The End', the similarly paced 131bpm 'I'll Meet You Halfway' beat ex X-Factor winner Leona Lewis into second place ... about time Cowell got beat and the better record won .. this week anyway.

During this decade the top forty has morphed with the increasing influence of MOBO artists. This weeks R'n'B dominated chart has no place for the new single The Stereophonics. Consequently, The Phonics 'Innocent' becomes only their second single to flop since 1997.

Seven new entries and a re-entering JLS - concert cancelled and losing top spot, the ex-X's return with a second tune on the chart, 'Beat Again' re-entering at 33.

A great week for Robbie Williams who's just got back together (sic) and really is sounding sooo nervous .. I didn't believe until I recognised those tongue tied symptoms of stage fright .. he's got two songs in with 'Bodies' up to 22 and 'you Know Me' in at 17 ... Take That songs already in the can according to the Robster!

New Years Eve...

Tosh comes home ... to Cardiff City with a 3-0 Welsh victory over Scotland and he's right ... far better to play at a packed state of the art Cardiff City Stadium than in front of thousands of empty seats in the 70,000 capacity Millenium .. there was only 7,000 there for one game ... surely the obvious disinterest will always have a demoralising effect on players.
