Paramore new single 4 Jun
Misery Business

Paramore blew us away @ Cardiff Barfly last autumn and here comes their best single yet. 'Misery Business' is the first taste of their soon to be released second album 'Riot!' - a tasteful and unusually short title for an emo outfit. A bitter sweet lyric and superb production showcases Hayley Williams angst ridden vocals and a dynamic three minute listen. Top 5 if there be justice. XXXXx

The View - Face For The Radio new single 25 Jun

You have a face for the radio,
But I know you’d like to see it in a show,
Claiming to be the next best everything,
Which way will you go?

You’re little smarter than most of us,
You run so fast sometimes it’s hard to see you for dust,
Finding some time for you, it tortures me,
Which way will you go?

Wages on a Friday,
Spent on a Saturday,
Lend me a fiver,
Won’t do that again,
Oh your trust is not to strong.

Your arrogance in a bag,
Won’t spare you a fag,
Superstar wannabe,
Says it comes naturally,
Cemented in your own feeble way,

He watches trainspotting, fifteen times a week,
Thinking it’s making him oh so unique,
PC on summer nights and football in the rain,
Doesn’t matter how far he is,
He always has money for the train

Nothing against you, love in my heart,
You’re really a nice lad, I’ve known it from the start,
Your conscience in eager, to know where you lie,
Pushing your limits, give it up and remember you can cry.

Wages on a Friday,
Spent on a Saturday,
Lend me a tenner,
Won’t do that again,
Oh your trust is not to strong.

You’re arrogance in a bag,
Won’t spare you a fag,
Superstar wannabe,
Says it comes naturally,
in your own feeble way.

Face For The Radio scored an instant hit reaction at our hosting of The View's album launch in January. There is such insight on this track ... soft accoustic strumming with ironic words pointed at ... well who? The lyrics could be about so many people I've worked with ... even myself a little teeny weeny bit. I'd love to know which wasted little dj upset these boys so much they wrote two tunes about him/her (probably a him). XXXXx theviewareonfire.com

Dead Disco
Dead Disco new single 9 July
You're Out
130bpm
Last August Leeds based Dead Disco raised a few eyebrows with their debut single 'The Treatment'
released on Manchester label High Voltage and selling out in days. In September their 'Automatic' became the last single on Fierce Panda. 'An indie Alison Goldfrapp in a stripey prom dress' NME 'synth pop punk rock' a la Blondie '77 style. Well worthy. XXXXx deaddisco.co.uk/www

Queens Of The Stone Age new single 4 Jun
3s & 7s / Sick Sick Sick
Check the latest QOTSA web-site for an amusing little instalment from their friendly smoking lightbulb character. QOTSA's new album 'Era Vulgaris' due on 11 June, reminiscent of 'Annis Horriblis' & first taste is a double A-side single which should see the Top Ten with little difficulty. Nice work XXXX

HelloGoodbye new single 7 May
Here (In Your Arms)
124bpm
From Huntingdon Beach, Los Angeles, California .... two years in the making ... HelloGoodbye ... inspired by the Beatles song, well maybe. Debut album 'Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!' includes this single which was described by New York's village mag as 'an emo band doing euro-pop'. A bizarre combination and a sold-out UK tour and Top Ten entry bodes well for an Orson like future. XXXX
